BOX-TOP HOUSE

Float-BOX house is an example of how a small, well planned space can  feel as spacious and be vastly more efficient than a much larger more expensive home.  The cost to construct, heat, cool, and maintain the float-BOX is substantially lower than a typical house due to its size and efficient use of space. Coupled with technologies such as radiant floor heating, natural ventialtion, on-demand hot water heaters and solar panels the float-BOX house can easily be specified to achieve a net-zero energy status.
  The float-BOX model comes in two variations that allow you to maximize your use of space. Option 1 is  a two bedroom 900 sq/ft unit with an open carport allowing access to the backyard. Option 2 includes a ground floor  that adds an additional 450 sq/ft that could be used as a  garage, home office, rental unit, or simply additional space for you to be creative with.   On the second and third floors the sense of interior space is dramatically increased due to  oversized 4'x8' glazed doors opening onto  balconies at opposite ends of the house.
